28 Ways to Show the Love: Remind Me to Self-Care

0
Each day in February, we’ll share a way that family members and friends can help the family caregiver in their lives. (A family caregiver is an individual who cares for a family member or friend, just like you.) Through our campaign, we hope to create awareness of what family caregivers do and how others can help.

Today’s tip comes from Adrienne Glusman (@adriglusman), who cares for her mom: Remind me to take care of myself.

Why this tip is important: While we are immersed in our own lives, family and the health and well-being of our caree, we often forget to focus on the person who matters most, ourselves. I need reminders to take time for myself, even if it's 15 minutes a day to meditate, breathe, sit in gratitude, or simply talk a walk in nature. I need to be reminded that it's OK to take this time for ourselves daily... even if it's more than once a day. It's so good for the mind, body and soul and will not only help its to better serve ourselves but also our caree.

Adrienne, this is a wonderful tip. Self-care is so important and too easily neglected. Love this. Thanks for sharing.
