29 Ways to Show the Love: Help the Caree Remain Independent

(A family caregiver is an individual who cares for a family member or friend, just like you.) Through our campaign, we hope to create awareness of what family caregivers do and how others can help.

Today’s tip comes from Frogger (@frogger16), who cares for her husband: Help label the caree's dresser drawers with one word cues (like "shirts", "socks", "underwear", "pjs").

Why this tip is so important: These simple reminders help a caree find their things and maintain a sense of independence longer. "My caree asked for that so he could put away his clothes because he couldn't remember where to find his sock or pj's and didn't want to bug me by asking 'again'. Also, anyone who relieves the caregiver can easily find the caree's things."
