29 Ways to Show the Love: Host the Happiest of Hours

(A family caregiver is an individual who cares for a family member or friend, just like you.) Through our campaign, we hope to create awareness of what family caregivers do and how others can help.

Today’s tip comes from Sally (@sara32742), who cared for her parents and two husbands: Bring a bottle of sparkling grape juice and cheese and crackers and have a happy hour with the caree and family caregiver.

Why this tip is important: Caregiving is incredibly isolating. Family caregivers and carees spend a lot of time inside the house because it often can be difficult to get out of the house. In addition, the family caregiver's time for socialization screeches to a halt as caregiving responsibilities take precedence.

Time spent with family members and friends is so important. And, time spent having fun is energizing. You accomplish both when you host a happy hour (a simple one at that) for the family caregiver and caree.
