Attitude of Gratitude

heart-1318850_640This is what I emailed to my Sweetie's son this morning. I have to be careful to give him comfort and still make him accept the eventual final departure of his mother. My sweetheart and I are now in the talking phase of her leaving me.

"My sweet Elsie is on an upswing -- feeling better, less confused. I think the pain of the poopie blockage is healed and the support of hospice is all working for her. She had a good session with Chaplain Mary, Nurse James, and two respite caregivers during the last week. We took the car to the gas station and Fred Myers for shopping so the new beast is slowly and reluctantly becoming a part of our life. I have had some great rainy day rides -- albeit kinda short, but sweet. Everything is stable as we continue to move to the rhythm of our final honeymoon. Surprising we can continue to say life is still good and there is an attitude of gratitude for these last days together."
