self-confidence-440227_640Family members and friends can disappear as the long marathon of caregiving continues. They leave because it's too hard, too time-consuming, too sad, too overwhelming. Sometimes, they leave because they decide it's too much for you, that you won't be able to keep going, that the daunting task will be too big for you.

So, they leave and they take their support with them. They could stay, share their concerns and continue to support you. But, they don't.

Giving you their support costs them nothing but would mean everything to you.

So, a responsibility they dubbed too daunting for you suddenly does seem insurmountable because they left and took their support with them. You're left with doubts, insecurities, second guesses.

Feel the pain of their departure--it hurts. Then believe that better, kinder, committed, compassionate support for you is coming. That's the kind of support you need and deserve.

Keep going, continuing to make (and sometimes revisit) your decisions as you go. You've come so far. You'll receive support that will walk with you the rest of your way.
