Birthday Celebration: Have Fun

Birthday Celebration: Have Fun

balloons-22881_640Every day this week, we’re celebrating’s 18th birthday with activities and prizes, including three grand prizes (a beautiful piece of art, a $50 gift certificate to a knitting store and three coaching sessions with me).

Today, we’re celebrating by taking time to have fun.

At some point today, do something fun, even if for only five minutes. You could take a break to play a game, enjoy your backyard, listen to your favorite music. However you define fun, take time today to enjoy it.

Then, share how you had fun in our comments section, below. I'll choose a random winner to receive an autographed copy of my newest book, Take More Comfort.

(Not a member of It’s easy and free to join; just go here.)

Today, let’s have fun.

Be sure to share what caregiving is like for you in our annual family caregiver survey. Take our 2014 Annual Family Caregiver Survey. Please ask other family caregivers you know to complete the survey, too. (Thank you!!)

Woo-hoo! Thanks, Denise!

Congrats to @janshriver who wins yesterday's gift!! And, thanks so much Jan for always bringing the fun!!! :)

Another fun and amazing 5 minute pleasure is watching the International Space Station fly overhead. Do you realize it passes over the Earth some where 16 times a day? It is easy to learn to spot in the sky, and I feel like I am saluting the flag when I see it go over. Spectacular. And fun.

I had to take my son to the dentist today and when he finished, we wandered around a thrift store for awhile, and that was fun. Not big fun, like corn on the cob or Katy Perry, but a diversion nonetheless!

I hope my fun lasts longer than 5 minutes but it depends on how big a pig I am. My mom and I went to Amish country today and bought a car-load of fresh vegetables, including corn on the cob. Corn on the Cob needs to be its own Food Group on the Food Pyramid. That may be all I eat for dinner. Boiled for two minutes, slathered in butter and salt, uh yeah. Some kind of fun.
