Birthday Celebration: Tell Us a Fun Fact

Denise
cupcakes-380178_640Every day this week, we’re celebrating Caregiving.com’s 19th birthday with activities and prizes.

Today, tell us a fun fact about yourself. We spend so much time talking caregiving responsibilities and tasks–let’s take a break by sharing something about ourselves unrelated to caregiving.

Share your fun fact about yourself in our comments section, below. I’ll choose a random winner to receive a $10 Amazon.com gift card. When you post a comment today, you'll also be entered to win our grand prize of $100 cash.

(Note: To win a daily prize and/or a grand prize, you must be a current or former family caregiver, a member of Caregiving.com and participate in one of our daily disrupt activities. Not a member of Caregiving.com? Create your free Caregiving.com account and join us.)

I self-taught myself how to play cornet/trumpet just for funsies. Payoff came in the jaw-drop \"wow\" from my bff at the time when we switched instruments and I belted out scales and tunes like the Great Satchmo. Well, maybe that's a bit of a grand comparison. But, it was a decent showing. ;)

I'm too late for the contest, but I'll post anyway. When I was a French major living in Paris I took a Spanish course taught in French.

I as a kid I never like playing with dolls but I liked designing and sewing clothes for them. A few years ago when I lost my full time job, my sister suggested that I started sewing doll clothes and sell them on eBay. I never realized there were so many adult doll collectors who would pay so much for doll clothes. Someone at Simplicity Patterns saw my stuff on Pintest and asked if I would be interested in licensing some of my patterns.
