Call for Caregiving Innovators

drawing-pad-1209781_640As part of our National Caregiving Conference, we’re co-hosting the First Annual National Caregiving Technology and Product Pitch Event with Aging 2.0.

Through our event, we want to find innovative solutions to caregiving problems. So, we're calling all innovators to help. Whether you are a student, a family caregiver, a former family caregiver, a start-up or an individual interested in helping family caregivers, we'd love for you to create a solution to one of three pressing caregiving problems (see below) and enter your solution in our contest. Your solution can be an idea, a product, a service, a device, equipment or technology. And, if we like your solution, you'll be one of three entries to receive a free exhibit table at the First Annual National Caregiving Conference, giving you exposure and an opportunity to bring your solution to market. We'll vote for our favorite of the three finalists on December 3 during our conference; the winner will receive $250 and will be featured on Caregiving.com and on Your Caregiving Journey, our Internet talk show.

Enter our event by creating a solution to:

  1. alleviate a family caregiver's loneliness;

  2. alleviate a family caregiver's financial strain;

  3. alleviate the worries about a caree's safety and well-being, including a way to track a caree's daily condition.

Innovators can create a solution that solves a one of these caregiving problems through:

  • Technology, such as a device, app or a website;

  • Products, such as a piece of equipment;

  • Services, such as something or someone for hire;

  • Innovation, such as designing a product or service.

To enter our contest, create a YouTube video (recommended length: five minutes) that describes or demonstrates your solution. Once you've created your video, complete and submit the entry form below. Deadline to submit your entry is November 11.

We'll then post the video submissions on Caregiving.com and ask visitors and members of Caregiving.com to vote for their favorite solution. Voting will begin November 12 and end on November 14. We'll announce three winners -- the three entries with the most votes -- on November 15. The top three entries that receive the most votes will receive a free exhibit table at our First Annual National Caregiving Conference. (If you are part of a team, one member of your team can attend the conference free of charge. We'll provide the exhibit table -- you cover the costs of your travel to get to our conference.) At the conference we'll vote for our favorite of the three and announce the winner on December 3 during our conference closing session.
