Call for Submissions: Your Artwork for A Caregiving Coloring Book

Denise
Gail_1Adult coloring books are the rage because they ease the tension of the day. When you sit with colored pencils and a coloring book, you can only think of the beauty of the colors. The stress of the day falls into your past as your focus completely on the present -- coloring.

We've got so many artists in our community that @thedogmama suggested we put together a caregiving coloring book featuring your black and white artwork we bring to live with our colors. (@thedogmama created the pictured Zentangle for our 3rd Zentangle Art Show.)

Even better, the sale of A Caregiving Coloring Book will benefit our CareGifters program. Through CareGifters, we fund caregiving solutions, one family caregiver at a time. Whenever we can, we raise $500 to give to a family caregiver; the family caregiver uses the money to fund a solution for one (or more) of their challenges. We raise money for CareGifters through direct donations and through the sales of our CareGifters books, like A Caregiving Cookbook and A Caregiving Day, a book of poems.

I'd love for you (and your caree and your kids and grandkids) to submit black and white art for A Caregiving Coloring Book. You can submit a Zentangle or a doodle or a drawing you create. You'll want to submit artwork that will fit on a 8 1/2-in. by 11-in. piece of paper.

Here are the guidelines for submission:

1. Deadline to submit your artwork is April 4.

2. Your artwork can be any design you create. Your caree, kids and grandkids can submit a design, too.

3. Your submission is, in essence, a donation. With your submission, you acknowledge you will not receive reimbursement upon the book’s publication.

4. We may not be able to include all submissions in the book. We will notify you whether or not your art will be included by April 11. We'll include a bio of each artist.

5. To enter a submission, submit your art in a JPG file via the form, below.

6. Our goal is to publish the book in early April. Proceeds from the book’s sales will benefit CareGifters.

If you have any questions, feel free to email Denise.
