Caregivingliving - Building a Village
Kimmy

And so you learn you can not do it all and stay well. Building a village has given me the opportunity to exhale. My village consist of friends, family and neighbors. I have a neighbor who checks on us and a grocer who helps us to the car with our groceries. I no longer say "No problem, I have this" or "Thank you but we do not need any help." I have let others in and am grateful for their caring gestures. These kind souls are part of my village. They make life easier and they lift me up with their kind words. And so my village is unconventional but it works. I have decided to be more intentional about caring for myself. The village is a means of support for both of us.
