Closure

Closure today.

The carpet was finally laid in my mom's bedroom; the last puzzle piece in this crazy, unmanageable box of 500 surprises. The master bathroom was completed on Wednesday and the carpet was done today, and now it is all done except for cleaning it up. The spot on the bare concrete floor where my mom hit her cheek is covered up, never to see the light of day for anyone who would recognize the drops of blood. I don't have to look at it any more, and I don't have to see her in my mind any more, positioned "just so" on the floor. Time to move on there.

Hurray for Closure. You've been a wonderful Caregiver!

Hi Jan,\n\nI'm so glad for you that you have closer. My mom passed Aug. 6 and most of the work on her estate is done. For some reason I don't feel like I have closure of my caregiving days. Maybe it is too soon. I'm new on this site so I don't know all of your caregiving history. How did you find closure? Maybe you can help me?\n\nAnita

Oh, wow. Closure. I imagine it's somewhat bittersweet for you. I'm so glad those traumatic reminders are gone. I hope they are replaced with the peaceful calm of memories of all your loving care. You did so well, Jan.
