Congrats to These Certified Caregiving Consultants

Denise
Congratulations to the next round of students who have successfully completed our Certified Caregiving Consultant™ training program. The following graduates are now, officially, Certified Caregiving Consultants™:

Lillie Fuller

Lillie Lillie

Lillie has been a family caregiver her entire life. She was raised with her grandmother living with the family. Her grandmother was injured badly in a motor vehicle accident and couldn't walk and also had rheumatoid arthritis and couldn't care for herself. Someone had to always be with her.

After graduating high school, Lillie went to work for the government, working at an Army base. She left that job when she started her family.

Eighteen years ago, when her children were very young, 3 and 7, Lillie moved home because of divorce and began caring for her dad who had Parkinson's disease and dementia. Lillie's mom had a stroke during that time so she cared for both. Since her dad's death in 2003 she has been the sole caregiver to her mom.

Lillie wants to help create your silver lining through photo journaling. She works with clients caring for family members from a distance who would like Lillie to visit their family member and to photograph them. In addition, Lillie works with clients who wish to document their caregiving journey through pictures.

As a long-term caregiver, Lillie understands that the hardest thing to do sometimes is take time of yourself. Lillie is available for respite, to sit with your family member as you do some caring for yourself or if you just need a break in your caregiving day. She will also visit your family members at home, in the hospital, nursing home or rehabilitation.

Sharon Hall

Sharon Sharon

After a long career in the corporate world, Sharon Hall retired in 2014 to care for her mother full time. Previously, she cared for both of her parents, long distance, near her in an independent living facility, and in her own home. She has over 15 years of caregiving experience.

During her years of caregiving, she has navigated the medical community, the social service community, and the support community. Recently, her husband was diagnosed with frontotemporal degeneration, so she has added experience in early onset dementia.
Sharon has traveled extensively with both of her carees. She can help direct you to accessible friendly properties, advise you on how to plan for your trip and what to make sure you take along. Traveling does not have to be stressful if you know the secrets to making memories with your carees.

Another specialty, close to her heart, is helping those recently diagnosed with early onset dementia. Early onset dementia affects the entire family. Much support is needed to be a caregiver in this situation. Sharon can help you navigate the social services, medical community and family issues that arise when someone is diagnosed with early onset dementia.

Becoming a Certified Caregiving Consultant has given Sharon the tools she needs to help other family caregivers, whether they are just entering the caregiving world, have been entrenched and need more support, or are at the end of their journey. Sharon is also one of our Volunteer Caregiving Researchers.

You can send a note of congrats to Sharon via her profile page as well as learn more about how to hire her: @srhall419.

Best wishes to Lillie and Sharon as they begin their work to make the lives of family caregivers better.
