Eclipse

August 20, 2017

As we all anxiously await the total eclipse of the sun tomorrow morning, it makes me think of how the diseases of PSP (Progressive Supra Nuclear Palsy) and FTD (Frontotemporal Dementia) are eclipsing my husband; eclipsing his brain, his body, his balance, his life. His spirit is like the sun – its beauty, strength and depth is radiantly and brightly beaming for all its worth.  The eclipse is the disease of his body and mind, breaking it down, making it smaller, brittle, imbalanced, and dull.  It’s the black shadow of the moon being cast before the sun doing its best to extinguish the light.  The difference being – a solar eclipse is beautiful, fascinating and short lived.  The other is a permanent eclipse that lasts until the graduation of this life called death.  That’s when the brilliance of spirit finally bursts forth and joins its glorious light with Gods.

Oh yes, we long for the day when our caree is healed and will be dancing in God's sight! Beautiful tying into the eclipse, thank you!
