Fatigue

Denise
imageSometimes, you wear your fatigues. You put them on when you're ready for battle; when anger, disgust or irritation put you on the field, ready to fight. Wearing your fatigues, you're ready to take on the world to get what you need.

Other times, you feel your fatigue. You've fought too many battles, washed too many bed sheets, made too many phone calls begging for follow-up. Too tired to put on the fatigues, you can barely get out of your pjs.

What to do, then, when you need to fight another battle but your fatigues are in the wash and you're stuck in your pjs?

Know that some battles can wait for you to find your strength. It's okay to label some battles as those that can wait.

For those emergency battles that can't wait, put the enemy on your side. Be honest as you fight your urgent battles. Say, "I've been trying my best to get the help we need. It's really important that I get this help for us. I'm getting worn out from the fight so I'm so grateful for your help. What do you need from me so we can get what we need?"

You don't have to fight every battle right away. And you don't have to wage all battles on your own. Have extra fatigues on hand to share. Save yourself from too much fatigue.
