Gotta Start Somewhere

(Editor's Note: We welcome Donna to our blogging team today. You can connect with her via her profile page: @d-dancergvtc-com.)

Today was one of those days that I felt exhausted, almost flu like, my lethargy was strong.  It’s definitely an indicator of stress and I need to take care of myself.  The difficulty is caregiving doesn’t stop when I need a rest.  Gone are the days of completely laying in the bed, watching movies uninterrupted, laziness.  The kids are grown, what’s up with that?

Life, my husband’s life, is what’s up with that. We’re a long way into our journey and my husband has a feeding tube, a urinal catheter to keep the edema down, 24/7 oxygen requirement, and a medical regimen  that has to be adhered to.

So, here I am starting this blog and it’s well after midnight. My profession is web design, instructional design and I was going to create my own blog, but it hasn’t happened. I’m so grateful this blog is here and I can write our stories. Right at this very minute my husband is making terrible breathing sounds, so I need to give him a breathing treatment. Thank you for making blogging part of the Caregiving community.
