Have YOU Found Your Calling? Be BOLD and Look for It!

Lisa
A question that came up today (and a few of us have this same question): How should I think about my own energy and what I want to focus on? Am I doing what I should be doing?

As a woman in her 50’s, I was still searching for the answer to the questions, “What do I want to be when I grow up?” and “What is my purpose/calling?” My virtual assistant business was celebrating 10 years but there was something that was missing. But I couldn’t put my finger on what “that” was.

That answer came to me on August 5, 2016 when I found www.Caregiving.com. The founder of Caregiving.com is Denise M. Brown, who has worked tirelessly for the past 20+ years in building this site and offering resources to family caregivers, former family caregivers and professionals working with family caregivers. Her heart is a true servant heart.

Many of my family and friends know that I grew up in a caregiving household. That story will be shared at a later date, but I wondered why did it take me this long to find Denise? To find Caregiving.com? And that answer is because it was divine right timing. Seriously. I truly believe it.

When I stumbled upon the site on August 6th the first thing I saw on the website was the banner inviting me to become a “Certified Caregiving Consultant™.” I thought, what could this teach me that I already don’t know in my 38+ years of caregiving experience? (I was educated in family caregiving by my parents through hands-on experience and live training sessions.)

However, I continued to immerse myself taking in all the information on the website. After an hour (or more) on the website, I fired off an email to Denise thanking her for creating the site and wishing I knew about it sooner in my family caregiving journey. I also inquired to learn more about the Certified Caregiving Consultant™ training.  The first sentence describing the program jumped on me like a flea to a dog, “Turn your personal caregiving experience into a profession. Become a Certified Caregiving Consultant™ to share your wisdom, lessons learned and resources to help those who care for a family member or friend.”

I knew who I wanted to serve and the kind of business to create with my certification. And because I wanted to absorb all that I could, I signed up for the accelerated course to become a Certified Caregiving Educator™ as well.  It was a few months of intensive work, but I am happy to report I have officially earned my Certified Caregiving Consultant™ designation. (My Certified Caregiving Educator™ will be coming shortly after I submit one last assignment.)

Why do I share this with you?  Well, I have a couple questions for you. Do you have an unfulfilled desire to serve others? Are you searching for a way to use your experience of family caregiving in a way that helps others? Is there something missing…a purpose or calling?

If you answered yes to just one of those questions, then I encourage you to explore becoming a Certified Caregiving Consultant™.  It takes only a few minutes to read through the course description and I guarantee you will know immediately if this is for you. But don’t wait!  The next course is starting April 3, 2017. Click HERE for information. You also can join Denise for a free webinar on Sunday, March 19, 4 p.m. ET (3 p.m. CT, 2 p.m. MT, 1 p.m. PT). During the webinar, Denise will share the requirements to take the program, what you’ll gain as a result of training program and how you can market your expertise as a Certified Caregiving Consultant in your community.

And, I invite you to contact me directly if you want to learn more about my experience or ask questions!  My email address is:  TheSereneHarbor@gmail.com.

Lisa, First: Congratulations on your CCC and soon-to-be CCE! I was in the same quandary of \"Who will I be when I grow up\" for years (um, okay.... decades). The CCC course has pointed me in the same strong direction and I've never looked back or asked that question again. And, thanks for answering the question I've wondered about for some time - why did it take me so long to find Caregiving.com. Divine timing. Amen!
