Managed to find someone to come to the house and give Mom a perm and a haircut today. What a wonderful gal. Less than two hours, in the kitchen and at the kitchen sink and Mom looks like a new woman! Found out not only does she come out to people in their homes, she was/is the hairdresser at the nursing home where my Dad was. I am sure she gave him a trim at least once. Small world sometimes. Getting worried about Mom. She is starting to sleep more. Longer at night and several naps during the day. This morning her weight was down to 112. She has no appetite but really tries. Her body is giving her a message. She is so tolerant of the pain meds it is hard to keep her comfortable during the day and it, if you'll pardon the expression, pisses her off, she wants to feel 80 again. Friday we see the ortho doc, but I am sure we won't find out anything different. Been back and forth about her extended release pain med. Of course the insurance won't cover it as written. Had to research other dosages to see what they will cover. (I love the comment they gave our pharmacist: \"we're not saying not to fill it, just we won't pay for it, if she wants to pay out of pocket, that is just fine.\" Yeah, let me see, over $1000 for a month's supply. Her pension is $56/mo, her share of Dad's is $230/month add social security and we are getting into negative numbers here. Fortunately our doc is great, we modified the strength slightly downward and they will cover it. But it means another trip to the office to pick up the script. What would happen if we couldn't help her? I did manage to get to my exercise class tonight. Yippee, but I'm sure the instructor wasn't to keen on my yawning in class. Hee, hee.

I had another \"new\" conversation with Grandma. She's telling me that her son told her she has to get out of the house, sell it and move to a home. It's not what he said but she's turning conversations into these horrible sounding edicts. It's been going on all week on a couple of different levels. Fortunately, her son, my uncle understands what is happening but is still surprised at the conversations. It's been hard to just nod and not say anything. I have made it clear that it is her decision only, not anyone else's. There is so much more her mind is making up but she insists she is clear headed and sane!
