I Have a Plan... I Think

Lisa
notes-514998_640Seems like those words keep repeating over and over in my brain. I have a plan... I think.

There's reasons for that unending circle. A lot has been going on lately. One of the reasons I haven't blogged in ages. But it's time to start catching up. Whew! Where do I start?

Well, for starters we were able to get a hospital bed for Dad. Yes, Medicare would have paid for one BUT you have to have a doctor's order. Since we have no doctor and no doctor will see him, that ended that. We were fortunate to find one on Craigs List at a very reasonable price. The man was very kind, even drove it down here (1 1/2 hours) and set it up for us. So, that has worked out well.

Dad enjoys the perks of being more comfortable in bed. Plus it's much easier to provide personal care for him. In doing this we got to flip the house inside out! Yay! Since I didn't have anything else to do I now have something. NOT. Dad's bed went to my new room, my daughter claimed my room and it's still a hot mess. His room is fine but the two of us still have things everywhere. Oh but I have a plan... I think. Let's also throw in the last week of my online classes. Talk about pressure. I had gotten behind in my classes and really struggled to catch up. Plus one of the technical classes had assignments that I wasn't able to do on my computer at home. I really needed to go to the lab but didn't have the time. No way, no how. So unfortunately, that class will have to be repeated next spring. I did do well in my other two classes though and I was proud of that.

If I focus on negative things, I'd crawl in a hole. I'm trying to look at what I've done, not what I didn't do. So I have a few weeks now before my summer class begins. Yay! Maybe I can get things straightened out here before then. My idea for that is to go over to the lab a couple of mornings a week and do the work there without distractions. So we'll see how that works out. Oh and I also have books I want to read, recipes I want to try, and things I want to do with friends. Hopefully I'm back and won't go MIA again for awhile at least.

I tend to shut down when things get crazy. And we all know, they can get crazy. But remember, I have a plan.... I think

That is quite clever of you, Lisa, to say you shut down. Oh, I daresay, there is little shutting-down going on in your brain. It is probably going 90 miles an hour. Even if you don't share with us frequently, you are strong at the helm of your world, and your dad's. I respect your ability to keep it all going, even if there are setbacks. You are hopeful and wise about it all.
