I Know Why

I Know Why

I'd intended to write something else, but it was not meant to be for the moment. Instead, here's a short little poem today, inspired by the recent passing of Maya Angelou.

I Know Why....
I know why the caregiver weeps
caring, worrying, getting snatches of sleep

As the caree yells to begin the day
I'm coming, please hold on I say

Taking a drink of water as I rise
While wondering if this will be another day of sighs

Trying to appreciate each day as it is
Each task tests me to the limits--gee whiz!

At the end of the day, I'm not sure what I've got done
But, I try to sleep for the morning again soon comes.

Your poem depicts so many of my days.

Oh, PL, I just LOVE this poem. I hope before you sleep tonight, you realize you've done much. :)
