A photo, they say, is worth a thousand words.

On the first day of every month, we share a photo of our caregiving day. Since we started our First Photo Project in September of 2014, members have posted photos of equipment, of carees, of a masked family caregiver at dialysis, of the morning shave, of a caree folding laundry.

In the next few days, take a photo during your day. Your photo can show what’s mundane or what’s meaningful about your day. The project is about capturing caregiving as a moment in time. A combination of moments will tell a story. Jan (@janshriver), who participates in our First Photo Project every month, shared this photo last month of her uncle, her aunt and her mother. Her aunt had recently died, joining her uncle and her mom on Other Side and she posted the photo to celebrate their lives.

Once you take your photo, share it and a description, if you’d like, in the First Photo Project group. (Note: You must be a member of Caregiving.com to post in our groups.)

I look forward to seeing your stories.
