Key

Denise
lock_and_keyWhen caregiving arrives, the door shuts.

It feels like it's just you, your caree and a disease all locked up in a small room. Sure, you leave once in awhile but it's for a doctor's appointment or a trip to the hospital. And, sure you have visitors but it's the home health aide or the mailman or the pizza delivery guy.

It would be so nice if someone would give you a key so that you could unlock the door.

Because when the door unlocks, you'll get some fresh air. You'll see the sun. You'll feel like you're part of the world, rather than simply a witness to it. You'll feel better. You'll feel like you can, like you and your caree have a chance.

Although I can't hand you a key, I can see through your room's window. Your room may be small but it holds such good work. Your work. And, we can see that you do and that you can.

A key will come. In the meantime, know we can see your big work in your small room.
