Letter Follow-Up

holding-hands-858005_640Many of you have asked if I had response to my letter to a few neighbors regarding Rod and how they could help us. I thought I would share this email with you, especially the part about how she wishes others would do the same.

Hi Sharon,

Thank you so much for your letter about Rod. We were so disheartened to hear about his condition. Steve and I would like to help out as much as we can!!  He would like to go in on the garden and I'm constantly running errands and at the store. We will also keep him in mind when we have extra sweets and food. Would love to go out to lunch with you sometime too:-). And anything else you might need. This list is so helpful- I wish more people would do this. Such a great idea. I can't imagine all that you will have to endure with all you have in your life right now. We are thinking about you and hoping this progresses very slowly and you will continue to have many fun moments with sweet Rod❤️❤️❤️

So, do not fear, let others know what you need as they truly want to help and the list gives them a good place to start.

This is awesome, Sharon!!!

That is great news. I look forward to how this works out for all of you.

Oh Sharon,\r\n\r\nThis is so heartwarming to see this response. I believe many people want to help and don't know what to say or do. I have learned from others here about asking for what you need. I have a friend whose son had leukemia. She said one of the things she learned from the experience is that many friends, family and neighbors do want to help. She said she learned how to let them. \r\n\r\nI'm so glad you will have more support. And it was so brave of you to put yourself out there. Thanks so much for sharing.
