Memories from the Hospital: "Threes"

hospital-736568_640Now that I am almost heading home for a three-week break from long-distance caregiving of my 88-year-old dad and 83-year-old mom, I want to make sure I always remember three things from my dad's nearly three-week stay in the hospital/rehab for congestive heart failure:

  1. Playing solitaire with him on the weekend when he was in isolation because of a threat of C. diff, which he did not have, by the way!

  2. Taking my folks' keyboard and playing hymns that he sang along with, quite well, in fact!  (He is a classically trained tenor and former choir director).

  3. Walking the halls in rehab unit and every time he came to his room, he said, "Well look, Ed's here!" (He was being funny; he has a bit of dementia but still a great sense of humor at times!)
