My 15 Minutes of Fame

Teresatalk
newspapers-444449_640I apologize for not having much presence on this site, but things are usually pretty hectic in my busy life of retirement caregiving. Besides all the health needs of my husband Dean, I watch my two granddaughters a couple of times a week for a few hours. My own health, pulmonary issues mostly, has really reduced my energy levels as well.

Recently I was pleased to be on the front page of the newspaper, however, and I just wanted to share that with the readers here. Because it is really the story of all of caregivers. Varied though our situations, we carry much the same responsibilities. The story was written for the purpose of alerting others about what caregiving is like on a personal level, in order to promote some legislation here in the state of Nebraska that would benefit caregivers.

I share it here, because I know all of you enjoy it when you see the important job of caregiving given some attention. Not sure where I read it, but they say that caregiving is the most rewarding job nobody wants. That really about sums up what we do, doesn't it?

That was such a terrific article, Teresa, and I'm so glad you took a personal risk and posted it here. Your victory in getting the truth out there is a victory for all caregivers, and we are proud along with you. Something so matter-of-fact for you is a big deal for others who won't or can't imagine your life and passion. I'm glad someone saw your story as important, which it is.
