air-84665_640Oh, to be the one on the right side of order, even for just a few hours.

To be the one who doesn't get ordered around.

To be the one who gets to place the order for just what you want and then have someone bring it, just the way you want.

To be the one who gets to order life around, rather than be ordered around by life.

To be the one who arrives home to order, who looks at the house every day and takes gleeful pride in the simplicity of order.

When we have order, when we get to order, we feel like we have control over our day and our life. And, often during a caregiving experience, we miss just that: Order.

So, just for a few moments, take a moment to create some order in your day. Fold the laundry, pay the bills, make the phone call, organize the meds.

And, know, in a time of chaos like caregiving, you bring a wonderful sense of order just by doing exactly what you do every day. When God placed the order for you, he (or she!) knew just what he was doing.
