36-Hour Chat Begins Christmas Eve, 5 pm ET

Denise
christmas-ornament-1033276_640If you need a extra support and comfort over Christmas, please feel free to stop by our 36-hour chat which will open at 5 p.m. ET on Christmas Eve.

To join our chat, just click the orange "chat" button on your right. Then, click to join our "36-Hour Christmas Caregiving Chatroom." (If you don't see an orange button, look to the bottom right for a button that says "chat." On your smart phone, you'll see a chat bubble with a number.)

Because we understand you may not be where you want to be and may need a place to go, we’re opening a chat room for 36 hours for any family caregiver and former family caregiver who needs a place to vent, share or connect over Christmas. Our virtual chat room doesn’t require gas or your heavy winter coat. If you need time away from family, if you need to connect with others who understand, if you need an empathetic ear who knows how it can be, please step into our Christmas chat room.

From 5 p.m. ET on Christmas Eve until 5 a.m. ET on December 26, we’ll keep our chat room open. To join the chat on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, simply click the orange "chat" button and then head into our Caregiving Chatroom. Typically, you need to be a Caregiving.com member to join our chat. For 36 hours, any visitor can join the chat without having to register a Caregiving.com account.

  • @roaringmouse, who cared for her husband and blogged on Caregiving.com, will man the chat room from 5 p.m. ET on Christmas Eve until 10 p.m. ET on Christmas Eve.

  • Sally (@sara32742) will check in on the chat room throughout the night and then man the chatroom on Christmas Day from Noon ET until 3 p.m. ET.

  • Lillie (@lillie) will be in the chat on Christmas Eve from 11 p.m. ET until 3 a.m. ET. She'll be back in the chat on Christmas day during our 2 p.m. ET chat and then again from 9 p.m. ET to 3 a.m. ET.

  • @hussy will be in the chat on Christmas morning from 9 a.m. ET until Noon ET.

  • Lisa (@lisarae) will be in the chat on Christmas day from 3:30 p.m. ET until 6:30 p.m. ET.

  • Rachel (@shoog) will pop in the chat room as she can.

(RoaringMouse, Lisa and Lillie are veteran volunteers for our 36-hour chat. RoaringMouse gave of her time in 2014 and 2013; Lillie and Lisa, in 2014. They all donated their time so that anyone who stopped in the chat room connected with a friendly face.)

I'll be joining the chat room on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day as I can. Would you like to volunteer to help in our chat room? Just send me an email and let me know your availability.

During a difficult holiday, you may need a cozy place to land. Please feel free to find comfort in our chat room. We’ll keep the lights on for you. And, a huge thank you to RoaringMouse, Lillie, Lisa, Hussy, Shoog and Sally for their wonderful donation of time and good company.

To join our chat, just click the orange "chat" button on your right. Then, click to join our "36-Hour Christmas Caregiving Chatroom." (If you don't see an orange button, look to the bottom right for a button that says "chat." On your smart phone, you'll see a chat bubble with a number.)
