Our Day of Service to Close NCC17

Lillie and Deacon Jiles Taylor-George

On Sunday morning, Lillie (@lillie), Lisa (@lisariggi) and Frank (Lisa's husband) concluded our Second Annual National Caregiving Conference with a Day of Service.

Because not everyone who wants to attend our Second Annual National Caregiving Conference could attend our conference, we did our best to bring our conference to those who couldn't make it in person (like live streaming our two-conference for free). So on Sunday, we brought a bit of our conference to Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago. We packed bags full of goodies -- lavender oil, stress balls, CDs, and free books -- to give to church members after the 7 a.m. service. We are so grateful to our sponsors which helped make our goodie bags possible: Lilly, Great Lakes Clinical Trials and SelfCareOasis.

A special thank you to Jenn Chan from Senior Shower Project who worked tirelessly to secure donations for our bags.

Lillie, who cared for her mom, brought a duffel bag all the way from Stockton, Calif., full of incontinence supplies, chux pads and lotions which she displayed on a table. Church members helped themselves to supplies they needed which they gratefully received.

We truly felt touched to be able to connect with church members to share material and resources. We left feeling so full and blessed that we could give. It was a wonderful way to end our conference.
