Panic

Denise
Panic_ButtonYou do your best to stay calm. But so much can go wrong in a caregiving day that's it's almost impossible not to panic.

You can't find what you need. You don't understand what to do. You won't be able to pay the bills. You can't get a break. You don't have enough hours in the day. You won't be able to enjoy a night out and away from the stress.

Your heart races, your palms sweat, your mind goes blank. With all the can't's, don't's and won'ts, it's easy to understand the panic.

Because you already have to give up so much, protect your moments from panic.

When the moment starts to overwhelm, take back your moment. Focus on the right now. Take your deep breaths. Close your eyes and visualize that you can, you do and you will.

You can.

You do.

You will.

Put panic in its place. Your moments are within your control.

This is so absolutely true. I suffer from anxiety since Marc has been sick but I have been trying to keep perspective. All of these tips are very useful.
