Paying Family Caregivers for Their Content

Denise
I've long wanted to pay family caregivers and former family caregivers for the content they create (blog posts, podcasts, video chats, conference presentations) on Caregiving.com. I regularly keep my eye out for opportunities to make this happen.

So, I've submitted an idea to a dementia care challenge sponsored by OpenIDEO called A Caregiving Community Created by Family Caregivers (Who Get Paid). The winning idea receives $25,000.

Would you support my idea by posting a comment here or applauding (click on the heart) for it here or sharing about it on your social networks. With $25,000, we can begin to pay those who contribute here for their time and their talent. I appreciate any help you can offer!

Thanks so much to those who post support of my idea, A Caregiving Community Created by Family Caregivers (Who Get Paid).

Denise, I think this is a gracious and supportive idea. Caregiving is tough, emotionally and financially. To be reimbursed for one's expertise in being an active caregiver both validates the emotions and value of the caregiver as well as provides a financial respect for the sharing of expertise.
