tulips-47399_640(1)Caregiving is lonely. Family members and friends disappear. And, then you're too busy to spend time with those who stick around. The world gets smaller and support seems to disappear just when you need all the encouragement and empathy you can get.

You are surrounded by others who understand, who want you to stay well, who believe in you, who feel how the heart aches. And, so we show you that we value you by coming together to show you our strength.

And, that’s Reason No. 1 in our Five Reasons to Wear Green on April 21. So we remember we're not alone.

On April 21, we’re wearing green to bring awareness to the family caregiver experience. According to a 2013 survey from Pew Research Center, 2 out of every 5 adults (40% of the population) care for an adult or child with significant health issues. And, yet, caregiving feels so lonely and isolating you can belief you are the only one.Our event can connect you to family caregivers in your community and online. Be sure to tell us about your experiences and share your photos on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram; use #caregreen as your hashtag. If you connect with a stranger wearing green who turns out to be a family caregiver, take a photo. And, we love selfies so be sure to share one. Not on social media? Feel free to email me your photos and I’ll share for you. Members of can share photos of their green in our Wear Green Forum.

On April 21, we hope to:
