Jan, I love your writing! I wish I could articulate as well! I love the humor and candor of which you speak. To have a break at just the right time is what God had in mind for you. I am so happy for you on the birth of your new little granddaughter, what a blessing - the Disease can not take away our JOY!

Thank you, Agnus, for \"taking a chance on me\" and reading my post. I'm truly glad it helped and feeling very humbled at your kind words. So very glad you found this website and you will find amazing resources here, for things you didn't even know you needed, and then some. It's a 24/7 Support Group and you don't need to find a babysitter for your caree, what could be better than that. Welcome to the fold.

I AM SO GLAD to have found this community just hours ago...and what an intro! Jan, this blog had me giggling in the same place as Denise, which just feels SO good: I've found where I belong! Peeps who get it! Hooray! My friends have been telling me for the last year that I need some sort of caregiver support group, and I tried several face-to-face groups but found them mostly informational - which is helpful but I'm a researcher by nature so don't really need all that much help in those regards. But emotionally? Oh yes! I need help and more help and places to vent and friends that nod knowingly when I share what it's like, and who laugh at the same places I laugh because we know: WE are the only ones who really understand this mysterious mix of blessing and curse that is caregiving for a loved one. Thank you, thank you, thank you for being here, for being real.

Hi--I know I say this every time BUT wow, I love this post.\r\n\r\nYou have such a wonderful eye for the detail of the day which makes your writing just pop. It's awesome. :)\r\n\r\nHow is your mom doing now that she's home? Any tough adjustments?\r\n\r\nAnd, how are you feeling now that she's back home?\r\n\r\nCongrats on the baby!!! She's gorgeous. \r\n\r\nP.S. These lines--It’s just “The Disease” talking. So “Disease”, would you like a little cream in your coffee?--just make me giggle. :)
