Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired

Teresatalk
Catching coldHave dodged the respiratory illnesses pretty well this winter, but not sure if it will last. My husband Dean just came down with a cold. Probably from our granddaughters who both got one this past week. I am hoping and praying I don't join them. It's hard enough taking care of all of them when they're sick, but don't know what will happen if I get sick and can't babysit the granddaughters, let alone Dean.

I am just so sick and tired of being sick and tired. Between my own respiratory and oxygen needs, watching two young granddaughters and a husband with dementia, I am really feeling my age lately. I so look forward to the weekends for a little down time at least.

I don't mean to sound so complaining, but it feels good to put it out there. There are many other caregivers who know just what I'm talking about. And yet, we don't have anything major on the home health front. Compared to others, we are low on the totem pole as far as the challenging crises others face.

You know I think I've talked myself out of a low place here. Yes, it could be much worse. Here I am--worried about catching colds. Even though my colds would send most people to the hospital.

Think of the worse cold you've ever had, and that would be one of my mild ones. But I have weathered them before, I can do it again if I have to. Maybe it will be a way to get some rest. Who knows? Guess I'll just let nature take its course. Not that there's any way to fight it anyway.

Thanks for listening, caregiver friends!
