Slow Please, Senior Crossing!

sign-44436_640Is it just me, or do people in stores, parking lots, doctors offices, etc. not have any patience for the elderly??

My 78-year-old father is still recovering from a hip replacement surgery, walks with a cane and is rather slow. It happened again this morning when I took him grocery shopping, he was almost knocked over by someone in a hurry rushing past him, and almost run over in the parking lot.

I try to always stay close by but I have to push the shopping cart so it is hard sometimes. I feel like I need one of those bright orange vests and a couple of signs that say "Slow please, senior crossing".

Anyone else ever have this problem? Thanks for letting me vent! Just had to get this off my chest!!

Hi Pegi! Thanks for the suggestion! My dad walks with a cane and doesn't feel stable pushing the cart. I try to go to the store when it is hopefully not as busy, but sometimes that is a challenge. I just try to be mindful of who is around us and try to shield him as best I can. As we all know it's not easy!

It is not just you! I most of the time have mom in her wheel chair or one of the electric chairs that the store has as she has been knocked over two times in stores! People seem to be so inconsiderate these days!
