Tell Us: What’s Your Caregiving Stress (Day 4)?

Denise
As you may know, I’ve been collecting data about your caregiving stress, the overlooked epidemic in our communities. During a recent webinar, The Family Caregiver’s Stress, I shared the current results of our ongoing survey and share thoughts about what’s needed to minimize the stress.

We know that caregiving stress can be ongoing. I also believe that caregiver stress is constantly changing, that what stresses you on Monday is replaced by a different stressful situation on Tuesday. To show the constant and changing face of caregiving stress, I’d love for you to tell us about each day’s caregiving stress over a period of five days. Your stories about your day’s caregiving stress will make our data about your caregiving stress that much more compelling.

In our comments section, below, tell us about the stress you’re feeling today.

A long planned two -day trip out of town with three cousins almost cancelled because caregiver”s illness but my sons came through for me.

So today has been an interesting day, I am preparing to go out of town for one night. I am attending the Caregiver Conference in Wimberly since it is only 3 hours from where I live, surely I can do this. One of my sons will be at the house taking care of my husband while I am gone since I can't leave him alone. Today I had have several conversations over the phone, first with a pest guy, then a Bee Keeper. Yup! we found a swarm of bees that have decided to make their home in our roof. I have never heard of this before! Couldn't believe that I have to spend X amount of $ to remove the bees from our home AND get this they are so busy they can't get here until Friday, April 9th. Until then we have hundreds of bees swarming above the walkway to our front door. We've been told they won't hurt anyone, they won't get into the house, but when I look up and see the buzzing mass I don't feel too comforted by their words. Never thought that this would be something to add to my stress list...…..
