Tell Us: What Do Others Need to Know About What You Do?

0
It's National Caregivers Day today. We honor you for all you do.

I wonder, though, how much others really understand all that you do. What do your friends and other family members need to know about your responsibilities? What does the health care system need to understand about your caregiving role? What does your house of worship and workplace and community organizations need to know?

Please share in our comments section, below, what others need to know about what you do.

Loriapril, \r\n\r\nHoly wow. I identified with your post so much. You do so well at detailing all of the minutiae (that no one wants to hear about, really, when they ask how you are or what caretaking is like) that completely fill your mind and time. I have done several writings similar to this myself, partly as a way to record what exactly is happening in my day, since almost all of it is dictated by someone else's needs and wants and inabilities and limitations; in other words, some days I'm so exhausted from doing nothing that one would actually consider \"something\" and instead an enormous amount of tiny actions--some of which are never fully completed. This is amazing, this writing, you have done. From the moment I started reading, tears welled in my eyes because I so strongly connected to it, even though we have relatively different caregiving situations. Thank you for sharing. Thank you for being brave and honest and for beautifully conveying the difficult. Take care, please, and I wish you all the best.
