leave-839225_640We make the most of what we have.

We do, though, do without.

Even as we pinch the pennies and squeeze the purse strings, we still may come up short. We have a list of what we need and sometimes we can't have all that we need on that list. And, sometimes, the list of what we need isn't just about money but about time, opportunities, experiences.

So, I'd to love: During your caregiving experience, what do you do without?

There's no other way to say this: my husband and I do without the uninhibited spontaneity we used to enjoy. IYKWIM. Having kids didn't put nearly as much of a damper on our love life, as this has.

Although my caregiving journey has ended, its do-without impact continues. And I admit, I'm bitter about it at times. Someone asked me \"So is everything back to normal now?\" Um, no.

I do without one entire day off. I do without the ability to make any sort of plans for myself. I do without the space, and privacy, to be alone when I really need to be. I do without attending regular services at my own church, because they conflict with my driving her to hers.
