Tell Us: What Does Caregiving Give You?

Denise
gift-5640_640On Wednesday, Chris McLellen (@thpurplejacket) joined for an episode of Your Caregiving Journey. (You can listen to our show, below.)

During the show, I asked Chris, "What does caregiving give to you?"

We often focus on what we lose. Today, I thought it would be helpful to focus for a moment on what we gain.

So, in our comments section, below, please tell us: What does caregiving give to you?

Recently I went to a Psychic Adviser. She didn't know anything about me or my story; I simply handed her pictures of my husband and me. In a nutshell, she said, \"Your mother gave you your daughter and granddaughter\". There is something ineffably written in stone about this fact. The universe buzzes with this truth. I came to South Florida to care for my mother, but gained my daughter and granddaughter in those efforts. Thanks, Mom.

It gave me a chance to be closer with my mother during the last 4 years of her life. It isn't something you always have a chance to do so I feel pretty blessed that we had that time together.
