Tell Us: What's in a Family Caregiver's Cocktail?

negroni-493528_640My parents keep me running.

And, some days, I want to run to the bar and ask for a cocktail just for me. A family caregiver's cocktail, if you will.

Now, I'm not talking about over-indulging. I'm talking about imbibing a spirit once in awhile that makes me feel like I'm having a moment just for myself.

So, I wonder: If you were to mix up a special drink, just for a family caregiver, what would you make?

Doritos and a Diet Pepsi chaser

Hey, all, here is an excellent holiday punch that everyone loves that sounds like a mash-up of the above: add one gallon of apple cider, 1 cup cinnamon schnapps, 1 cup vodka, some cinnamon sticks, heat up in your crock-pot. Never fails to impress. And you don't realize \"it's working\".

I'm a PEPPER! Diet Dr. Pepper. Definitely!

Well, I spend a lot of time every Sunday, in the back yard. I use a smoker to prepare virtually all meats that will be eaten for the week (after they're done, I use a vacuum sealer to store them, then it's just heat-n-eat). At any rate, on Sunday, my friend comes over to be my \"assist\"; and, it works out for me...I time everything on beer! How long has that roast been in the smoker?--Two beers--OK, it's done!

To me it depends if it is summer or winter, in the winter it would be a nice warm apple cider that has been warmed with cinnamon sticks, cloves and orange slices, in the summer it would be a tall glass of extra sweet iced tea or lemonade.
