Tell Us: What's the Worst Gift You've Ever Received?

gift-444519_640Last month, @janshriver celebrated a birthday. During our discussion about her birthday, we veered off into a conversation about gifts, with Jan and @hussy sharing about some of the worst gifts they've received.

Jan shared this one:

"My mother-in-law sent me, a few years ago, and while my girls were still living at home, a birthday present consisting of USED BRAS in a size that would double as an Easter Bonnet. She had known me for probably 20 years by then, and what size I was (NOT THAT). My daughter Gwen, always the Resident Comic Relief, hand-lettered a sign which read, “The Breast Birthday Ever”, put on the bras and had a portrait taken. We still have the picture to this day and always remember it with a fond family laugh, and always wonder exactly what my mother-in-law was thinking when she sent it…..(dementia was never her area of expertise)."

Hussy replied with this one:

"You reminded me of my MIL who is notorious for her awful gifts. One year she gave my husband a panini grill. She left the clearance price sticker on it, didn’t wrap it, and told him to go get it in her garage! Two years ago she gave him a food chopper. When he opened it up, it had some dessicated chopped onions and celery in it!"

So, I'd love to know: What's the worst gift you've received? Tell us about it in our comments section, below.

I'll have to think a while about what was the worst gift I ever received, but before I was born, my father gave my mother a shot gun. (He wanted it.) I'm surprised she didn't shoot him with it! By the way, my mom was the best shot in the family (steady hands) even though my dad was captain of his high school's rifle team.
