Tell Us: What’s Today’s Caregiving Stress (Day 3)?

0
As you may know, I’ve been collecting data about your caregiving stress, the overlooked epidemic in our communities. During a recent webinar, The Family Caregiver’s Stress, I shared the current results of our ongoing survey and share thoughts about what’s needed to minimize the stress.

We know that caregiving stress can be ongoing. I also believe that caregiver stress is constantly changing, that what stresses you on Monday is replaced by a different stressful situation on Tuesday. To show the constant and changing face of caregiving stress, I’d love for you to tell us about each day’s caregiving stress over a period of five days. Your stories about your day’s caregiving stress will make our data about your caregiving stress that much more compelling.

In our comments section, below, tell us about the stress you’re feeling today.

I'm relieved because dh did not do anything physically foolish (he had planned to climb his HAM radio tower!). I'm concerned, though, that he will do it on his own another day.

Hello! \r\nI am new here, just joined today. I haven't quite figured out how to navigate around here, yet. This is pretty new to me. \r\n I take care of my mom with dementia. For me, same stress, new day. I live by the motto, \"1 day at a time\". That's all I can handle.

I just found this site so I'm joining in on day 3. our daughter, her husband and baby are visiting. we had SW out walking quite a bit which made me worry he would wear out and fall. I worry because he doesn't easily engage in conversation like he used.

Sorry to have missed the first two days, but today's stress is that my buddy has been very sleepy. He's been falling asleep at the drop of a hat today. This situation happens every now and then, but today I couldn't get him in bed, so he's been sleeping in his wheelchair all afternoon. He's gotten a pinched nerve in his neck in the past from this which causes all kinds of bad problems.
