Tell Us: When Didn't the Help Feel Like Help?

Denise
eyeglasses-366446_640Frank has a sibling, Bill, who wants to help and regularly offers his help.

For Frank, though, the help feels more like a burden. With his offers of assistance, Bill brings the drama. He'll offer to do the grocery shopping only to bring over half of what's on the list. "I used a basket instead of a cart so couldn't get everything," he'll say. He'll volunteer to manage the doctor's appointments only to mix the dates and times. "I lost the appointment cards," he'll explain, "so was going off my memory." He'll say he'll mow Frank's lawn on Saturday but two Saturdays and four phone calls from Frank later, the front lawn is now like a forest. "I'll do it," he'll say, "don't you believe me?"

It's the help that feels anything like help.

I have a feeling you can relate.
