This is Not a Race, I Repeat, This is Not a Race

This is Not a Race, I Repeat, This is Not a Race

I like listening to Sam and Dave (yes, I was born in the wrong decade), but when "Soul Man" was blaring away on the alarm at 5 a.m., I'm pretty sure I didn't feel like singing along. I got up though and off to the gym we went.

Mike and I are pretty competitive people; that's probably why going to the gym is good for the both of us. We are still working on cardio for the time being until we're sure we aren't going to die on the equipment. I made it one minute longer on the elliptical machine than I did the other day and Mike walked his kilometer.

Then we decided to go on the bikes; he on the recumbent and I on the stationary. On your mark, ready, set GO! I don't know how it started, but it worked in to I-can-peddle-faster-than-you and ended in I'm-going-to-go-one-minute-more-than-you.

We called it quits when we were both swimming in sweat and ended in a fit of laughter. I'm sure the other people there thought we were a bit nuts, but that's okay.

Tour De France, here we come!
