Trackstress Twitter Chat Transcript

0
caregiving_healthcareWe gathered on Twitter on Friday, October 16, to discuss our caregiving stress. Through our discussion, we hope to bring awareness to the importance of caring for those who care. We also hope the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will track family caregiver stress and its source. (Be sure to sign and share our petition to the CDC.)

I loved our discussion, which was real, succinct and touching. Our participants included parents who care for children, spouses who care for spouses, adult children who care for parents, and some who care for more than one. A few participants shared photos of their carees, which became powerful moments during our chat, and one participant shard this hilarious photo about the health care system shown here. As often as we could, we tagged the Twitter accounts for the CDC and its executive director, Dr. Tom Frieden, in our tweets.

You can read our transcript of our discussion, below.

We'll chat again about our caregiving stress on Friday, October 30, at 2 p.m. ET (1 p.m. CT, 11 a.m. CT).  To join our chat, go to tweetchat.com, log into your Twitter account and follow our hashtag: #trackstress. You also can tag the CDC on your tweets during our chat; use @cdcgov and and @DrFriedenCDC, the Twitter account for Dr. Tom Frieden, Executive Director, CDC.
