Yesterday, we aired our 2nd Annual Virtual Caregiving Conference. Miss it? Watch the 2nd Annual Virtual Caregiving Conference archive.

I so appreciate our presenters: Bruce and Kathy McIntyre (@brucemc), Richard Kries (@kreisler), G-J (@g-j), Jane Northrop (@jbones1961), Trish Hughes Kreis (@trish), Jim Kane (@jimkanejr) and Holly Eburne. They  shared tips and insights to help you as you care for a family member or friend.

During the keynote presentation, Kathy referenced the "spoon story" which helps explains a chronic illness to those who say, "But you don't look sick." The article, "The Spoon Theory," was written by Christine Miserandino.

During his presentation, Richard shared tips on how he organizes a medical information binder. Per your requests, Richard shared the following templates that he uses:

Some of my favorite quotes during the conference include:

  • Keep copies of a one-page sheet with important details to share with doctors during appointments. ~ Richard Kreis

  • Use a pharmacy that will work with you. ~ G-J

  • If your caree has a sensitivity to water, have your caree use something like Handi Wipes® rather than using soap and water. ~ Trish Hughes Kreis

Holly closed our session by sharing her belief that you can do and manage whatever the future brings.
