What's the Number That Seems to Control You?

What's the Number That Seems to Control You?

1_jms.svgThis morning, I checked some numbers. And, then I realized, so much of how I can feel about my day is determined by a set of numbers.

I'm wondering if it's the same for you.

Perhaps if your number when you wake up is 1 (you only helped your caree to the bathroom once during the night), then you feel like your day is off to a good start. Maybe if your caree's numbers (sugar, blood pressure) seem normal, you sigh in relief and think, "We're okay right now." And, if the doctor's office calls you back after you've only left 2 messages, you feel like you've won.

And, perhaps, if you feel you've only swore 3 times in a day, you're doing great.

So, I'd love to know: What number(s) do you obsess about? What's the number (and what does it relate to) which seems to determine the fate of your day?

The numbers are over the top as I'm dealing with a Nursing facility my wife is in that wants to give her a 30 day notice as they feel they cannot meet her healthcare needs. They are trying to villify her as being too demanding for their lack of doing the job that a long term care facility is supposed to be doing. I set up a meeting with the administrative director, my wife, and myself for next Tuesday. He said, after I talked with him, that maybe we can work things out but I'm not going to bet on it yet.It has been a stressful week. I hope to get a chance to blog on it. I've been going through a lot emotionally--feelings of sadness, loss, regret, guilt over some decisions I've made on my caregiving journey. to be continued...
