Caregiver Reflections on Daily Routines and Self Care

Sharon

It has been a very cold day today with serious wind chills. It will be even worse tonight and tomorrow. I was scheduled to substitute teach tomorrow, but basically all schools have called off school already tonight for tomorrow. This means sticking close to home. Even mid-week activities in church were cancelled tonight. Cabin fever for me hasn't been too bad.  When it is so cold, one is thankful for a warm place to stay.

I did my exercises again today. I ordered a couple more exercise videos today online. I hope this will keep it varied a bit, so I won't get bored with exercising. It is important that I keep this up to fight fatigue and the "blah" feelings.

I also must keep up my devotions and stay close to the Lord. It is so amazing sometimes how God will use the right Scripture passage or devotional or sermon to speak to my heart when I need it. Life certainly is not easy. This is especially true for us the last couple years, but God has shown His grace and blessings in so many ways. I pray that I might not lose sight of these blessings. Lord, help me not to carry around anger or impatience in any way, shape, or form. Help me to concentrate on the joy and blessings in my life and on my eternal future.
