Woo Hoo, Vacation!

Tybee1There hasn't been much to report on from me lately. The most exciting thing for me is that I'm on vacation. I had hoped we'd be able to go to Key West and spend some time this year but we're in the coverage gap and the money just isn't there so this will be a staycation. John has to see his vascular surgeon Wednesday anyway so even if we'd had the cash, health comes first. I do hope to take a day trip to Cumberland Island while I'm off. It's nearby and I've always wanted to go so why not?

The Medicare coverage gap...is that not just about the most evil thing you could imagine? Who came up with that idea and what were they thinking! If it weren't for my own experience as a social worker and a good social worker and PD nurse at Davita, I really don't know what we'd do. I'm actually thinking of looking for a part-time gig to bring in some extra cash. Once John starts home hemo though, I have to be here with him and won't be able to work a second job. So there you go...no part-time gig for me except maybe on weekends. Working seven days a week is just not very appealing to me. I'm not as young as I used to be and I have a lot more going on now than I did back in the day. If anyone reading this has any ideas about how to more successfully navigate the coverage gap, I'd love to hear them.

Now...off to the beach.  Tybee is calling my name.

Oh, I love a staycation!! I hope you both enjoy calm moments which easily bring a hand hold. :)\r\n\r\nThe coverage gap just sucks. You also could check with your pharmacist for suggestions--he or she may ideas that can help.
